Happy Last Weekend Before Christmas!!
It's the last weekend before Christmas! Are you doing anything festive?
I think the boys have a Christmas shopping outing planned, David and I are stealing away for a late afternoon date (probably to Joule, but still undecided...), I am really looking forward to exploring and doing a little more holiday shopping at the Seattle Renegade Craft Fair, and, barring terrible weather, we are going as a family to see the festive Christmas Ships (cannot believe it will be the last time while living here...tears).
A few links from the week that I'd love to share...
I am adding "make a buche de Noel" to my holiday to do list for next year. Wouldn't it be fun to host a woodsy themed winter party before Christmas (maybe to serve as my annual birthday party?) and serve hoppy beers, woodsy wines, marinated mushrooms, and a hearty stew with crusty bread followed by the party's inspiration, the buche de Noel? I would love for that to become a family tradition.
I love this outlook on running.
We just finished reading Roald Dahl's The BFG with Jack last weekend and then I stumbled upon the trailer for the movie which will be released next summer...we are so excited!! Jack has been talking about and drawing movie scenes for days!
Have you read this book? I just got it from the library for my upcoming vacation and I'm excited to start it!
Speaking of vacation...I have a long list of places I want to visit while we are in Nashville. Some of the things on my list are Apple and Oak (my cousin's new home store!), Two Son, Jeni's Ice Cream and the Nashville Farmer's Market, Vinnie Louise, Mas Tacos, Taqueria del Sol, The Food Co. in Green Hills, and the Frist Center for Visual Arts. Any of you familiar with Nashville (I know you are out there!), is thing anything else that I should include?
What a delicious sounding cocktail.
I hope your weekend is a fun one! xxo
